2014 Kearney Meet Results
The Belton Pirate Powerlifting Team were in action Saturday, March 8th at Kearney HS. The meet hosted 13 schools with the likes of Kearney, Fort Osage, Washburn Rural, Shawnee Mission West, Carthage and others. The Pirates did not disappoint. The girls won the meet and the guys (combined 9/10th grade team score with 11/12th grade team score) finished second behind host school Kearney. Despite not having as many competitors we are closing the gap on Kearney who has earned a top 3 team finish every year at NASA HS Nationals since 2006. Seventeen of the forty-three competitors medaled top 3, while 28 placed top 6 and earned team points. The Pirates took home a total of 35 medals, team plaques in both divisions as well as both lightweight and heavyweight lifter of the meet plaques. For most of the kids the meet season is over, but we do have 13 kids that have qualified to compete at NASA HS Powerlifting Nationals in OKC, OK the weekend of March 29-30th.
