ALL SPORT OFF-SEASON STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
The Strength & Conditioning Program serves all athletic programs for all three athletic seasons as well as the summer. Click on the tabs for each season for more information. The program is open to all 7th-12th grade students that are interested in athletics in the Belton School District.
Off-season activities look different for different athletes..ie 7th graders compared to seniors. For the lifting portion we teach progressions through every lift. Feel free to check the Level 5 lifter document under the S&C Charts tab for more info. An example....all kids new to our program whether they are a 7th grader or senior coming in for the first time will perform body squats with no weight before progressing to a med ball, then front squat their bodyweight for 5 reps before getting the opportunity to back squat. We stress technique and safety and the weight will come in due time.
For the three in season off-season sessions we offer two days of agilities, plyometrics, and conditioning for each grade level session. The summer session includes lifting and agility/conditioning everyday and an 80% commitment is highly encouraged.
Bus transportation is available before and after each off-season session during the school year. A bus from BMS will transport kids to the stadium on Tuesday and Thursdays when in session. Off-season concludes at 4pm each of those days and we provide bus passes to transport kids home on the 4:10 activity buses that meets in front of the sign at Southwick Stadium.
There are no forms to fill out to participate, but if your child has any medical conditions please email me at [email protected] with any limitations or anything I need to be made aware of.
