COACH GOURLEY'S AGILITIES 2001-2008
All records are based on information collected by previous football coaches in the district since 1988. Female records were not displayed and collected during the Coach Mac era so those are not included. The female records began compiling as of 2001 at the start of Coach Gourley's tenure as Head Football/Strength Coach. Coach Mac assessed squats as a safety squat with a different cambered bar that had a shoulder yoke so they cant be equated with our current assessment. We test back squat the same as NASA HS Nationals, which is a full 90 degree parallel squat where the mid point of the knee and mid point of the hip (greater trochanter) are level which puts the femur breaking parallel with the ground. All maxes are 1-3 rep assessments. The Coach Mac and Coach Gourley era's performed power cleans from the floor, which are easier to perform so they cannot be directly equated to the hang clean that we currently perform. All hang clean, pro agility, and Power Points are new assessments as of 2008-2009 when Coach Scherfenberg took over as the District Strength & Conditioning Coach. As not to take away from the strong male athletes that Coach Mac had, his record board still hangs in the HS weight room. I have included a picture of it on this sight under the "Coach Mac Era" tab. The bench was transferred over and included in the current records, but we no longer do safety squat or power cleans. Bench & Squat transferred over from the Gourley era. I have also included the agilities from the Coach Gourley era that we no longer assess. I only use assessments that we can use with our fully automatic timing system for the highest level of accuracy. While the standing broad jump and vertical jumps are included in our current records the nebraska agility and wheel drill we no longer assess. Those agilities can be found below.
