In the small rural town of Mateare , Nicaragua is a little church with a big faith. The Power and Glory Church has been established for over 40 years. This congregation all knows each other. They share each others burdens as well as joys.
It is a poor church. They go to church almost every evening. Many have no running water, no electricity and sometimes no food. What they do have is their faith. They depend on it daily to get them thru each day. The joy of the Lord is truly their strength. These people have chosen to be happy in their circumstance. It is both contagious and overwhelming. Many of the people in the village of Dios Provee (God Provides) attend the church.
The church they worship in has a roof that leaks. It has electricity that is unsafe, and instruments that are broken and in need of repair. Belton FCA is joining in the efforts to raise funds for this church not only for the physical needs of the church, but also for the encouragement it gives.
Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere. Second only to Haiti. The village of Dios Provee love softball/baseball, but most do not have gloves. If you have a used glove laying around that you do not use, please bring to the tournament and donate and we will take it down with us in December on our next visit.
Thank you for helping this church family by participating or donating to this softball fundraising event.
